Evgenia Egorova: Research

Present

Currently I work in the area of Empirical Software Engineering under supervision of professors Maurizio Morisio and Marco Torchiano. We conduct empirical studies in order to understand how software is produced and what are the drivers of its success. We started from general view on the software projects and risk factors. Then we have addressed heterogeneity of the factors and projects. Besides we are working on the definition of success for software projects since we believe that CHAOS definition "The project is completed on-time and on-budget, with all features and functions as initially specified" ( Standish group ) is rather limited.
In this work we also collaborate with: Claes Wohlin, Aybüke Aurum, Richard Berntsson Svensson.

Past

  • CMMi and software inspections. Collaboration with Motorola Research Center. Analysis of the data from inspections data base.
  • Other topics of interest

  • Systematic review and meta analysis. I am working on defining enough narrow, precise and interesting research question to try it out.
  • Specification Languages in general and ASM (Abstract State Machines) in particular. I am not really knowledgeable in this topic. After the Lipari 2007 summer school and lectures of Prof. Egon Börger and Prof. Dines Bjørner I became interested in this research area and some day I'd like to know more about it.
